Martin Luther, the peasant who rocked the world of the 16th century, did much to pave the way for our modern era. Luther, concerned about his own soul, entered a monastery to seek his salvation. In doing so, he rediscovered foundations of Biblical Christianity that shook the world and challenged its assumptions about religious authority and how God saves us.
This two-hour special is the story of Germanys most famous son, from an overtly Protestant perspective. We come to understand Luther, the turning points in his life, the opposition he confronted, and the profound changes he brought about.
